Joining the Society
The Society owns and runs the Leatherhead Museum of Local History, puts on talks by invited speakers and members, publishes books and a highly regarded quarterly newsletter, provides this website and assists researchers and those interested in local history in many ways, in particular by making available online its Newsletters and Proceedings since 1946.

The best way to support us is to become a member. Membership runs from the 1st of January to the 31st of December. Our subscription fees are:

Friends of the Museum: £5

Teachers of history: free
Members get priority receipt of our quarterly Newsletter and, when published, our Proceedings; member-only access to archive records and digitised documents online; free use of the Society's Library and voting rights at our Annual General Meeting.
Student membership is for people in full time education. Associate membership is for people living at the same address as an Ordinary member.

People involved in teaching history locally in schools and colleges (teachers, teaching assistants, lecturers etc) are invited to join the society for free. Please contact our Chairman to take up this offer.
Members can also join the Friends of Leatherhead Museum who support the Museum in many ways, for example some are regular stewards or volunteers there.

Those joining the Society after 30 Sept get 15 months to the end of the following year. If you pay UK income tax you can also benefit the Society by Gift Aiding your membership.

Small Corporate Membership costs £125 annually and provides all the benefits of Ordinary Membership as well as sponsorship opportunities - please contact our Chairman.

You can pay for ordinary and associate membership using a credit or debit card via our online membership system.
​
If you are not able to use the Internet, you can print and fill in our Application Form. However, note that your details then have to be entered by hand into the membership system and this can lead to mistakes.
